The Charity would like to give you an update on the current Coronavirus situation.
Firstly, and most importantly, the individuals and families the teams here at the hospice are caring for. Forest Holme Hospice staff will continue to offer support to the best of their ability. The hospice is doing what they can to reduce the risk of infection, for example offering support by phone rather than visiting at home, if appropriate. This will help to ensure that face-to-face support is available for those who need it most.
Forest Holme Hospice is part of Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and up to date guidance about coronavirus can be found on the hospital website homepage www.poole.nhs.uk. This includes advice about visiting patients.
If you, or someone that you care for, requires hospice support please contact Forest Holme on 01202 448115 so they can work with you to decide the best way that this can be provided. We would ask that this number is strictly used for patient related enquiries only.
The Charity would like to give our love, thanks and support to all the teams based at Forest Holme and Poole Hospital who will be providing front line care and support in the challenging weeks and months ahead.
Secondly, the health and wellbeing of the Charity’s staff, volunteers and supporters is paramount. Therefore, we have taken the very difficult decision to postpone all volunteering activities, planned events, cheque presentations, talks and fundraising activities until the end of June. We will, of course, be monitoring and reviewing things on a regular basis and will in touch with you about alternative arrangements. Please bear with us during this time.
We are happy to refund any tickets to our events or will be very pleased to carry these across in the hope that you will join us again later in the year.
Our Board of Trustees have also made the decision for our team to follow national guidelines and work from home for the foreseeable future. Please feel free to contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org or via our social media pages.
As much as we normally love to see you when you visit the office, please can we respectfully ask that the Charity’s supporters do not visit the hospice for the time being.
We hope that by being part of the Forest Holme family at this most challenging and uncertain of times, it may offer you, and others, a little bit of community spirit during the weeks and months ahead. If you don’t already follow us on social media, please join our virtual community and together we’ll get through this!
As ever, thank you for your wonderful support of Forest Holme. Please stay safe and take care.
