How we support you

We offer specialist palliative care support to patients and their families/carers for patients with serious illnesses when complex needs require specialist advice and management. This support may take place within the hospice itself (in designated clinic areas or –inpatient unit), or at your own home or whilst in hospital if you are an in-patient there.

These teams can support in the following ways:

  • Management of symptoms that are difficult to control
  • Supporting you with fears and anxiety about your illness and future
  • Encouraging and enabling you to maintain your independence and guiding you if you cannot manage
  • Advising you on social and financial matters
  • Offering you spiritual and psychological support
  • Helping with liaison with other staff such as GP, District nurses, Consultants
