Jogle challenge raises over £6,000 for hospice

A gruelling 24 day, 875 mile Jogle from John O’ Groats in Scotland to Land’s End in Cornwall has raised over £6,000 for Forest Holme Hospice Charity.

45-year-old Claire Smith from Christchurch decided to take on the challenge in memory of her friend Susan Northcott, who was given end-of-life care at the hospice earlier this year.

The mum-of-two, who completed the ‘self-supported’ attempt by carrying all her own food and sleeping where and when she could, is no stranger to extreme endurance challenges, having competed in numerous triathlons, deca triathlons and Ironman competitions. Claire, said, “Susan was a huge inspiration and support to me from my teens and all throughout my adult life. I just hope I made her proud. I wanted to also raise funds for Forest Holme Hospice, who looked after her so well earlier this year.”
