VISITOR INFORMATION UPDATE
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, please can all visitors call the hospice on 01202 448423 before visiting a loved-one to check on the current situation and restrictions. Thank you.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION – PLEASE READ
To reduce the risk of spreading coronavirus infection we ask that visits are minimised. We encourage you to use other means of staying in touch – e.g. by phone or text message.
If you have a fever or cough, stay at home for 7 days. Do not visit if you feel unwell. If anyone in your household has a new cough or fever, everyone in your home needs to stay at home for 14 days or for 7 days after developing symptoms.
Even if you are feeling well, please reduce the spread of coronavirus by maintaining at least 2m between you and anyone else at all times.
Wash your hands often, and more vigorously than normal – for at least 20 seconds.
Taking these precautions will help to save lives. Thank you.
Please also watch this Coronavirus information video.
Visitors are welcome at any time, although many people enjoy a sleep after lunch and we suggest that early afternoon from 1pm to 3pm is kept as a quiet time. Being visited can be tiring and it is often better to limit the number of visitors at any one time and to encourage them not to stay too long. Children of any age are welcome and well-behaved pets may also visit. We have a large lounge, relatives’ kitchen, relatives’ overnight room and small courtyard garden which you are very welcome to use.
Forest Holme has its own small car park, but parking is limited. We would ask you to encourage friends to park in one of the nearby pay-and-display car parks at the hospital, Dolphin Shopping Centre or at the swimming pool, so that close family members can park on site. There is some free parking on nearby streets for up to two hours.
The hospice is well served by public transport. The rail station and the bus station are within walking distance for the reasonably fit: allow about five minutes to walk up Seldown Lane if you are coming by bus and an extra ten minutes if you are travelling by train.
The front door of Forest Holme is usually kept locked for security reasons so when you arrive please ring the doorbell and someone will let you in.
It is now national policy that there is no smoking on NHS premises and Forest Holme is fitted with smoke alarms. We therefore request that you do not smoke within Forest Holme or its grounds.
