New Strictly star has hospice connection

Forest Holme Hospice Charity has congratulated Maddie Ingoldsby after she was announced as one of the new professional dancers joining BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Maddie has been part of the charity’s much-loved Strictly Extravaganza since its very first event, helping to create unforgettable moments while raising vital funds to support specialist palliative and end of life care across Dorset.

One of the standout performances came in 2023 when Maddie partnered contestant Jason Edwards. Together they performed a beautifully moving Waltz to the theme from Schindler’s List, captivating the audience and judges before lifting the coveted Glitterball Trophy.

Maddie returned to the Forest Holme dancefloor for the charity’s second Strictly Extravaganza in 2025, once again sharing her exceptional talent, professionalism and passion with contestants and supporters.

She has been a wonderful supporter of our Strictly Extravaganza from the very beginning, giving so much of her time and talent to help raise funds for Forest Holme Hospice.

Forest Holme Hospice Charity’s Strictly Extravaganza has become one of Dorset’s flagship fundraising events, pairing local amateur dancers with professional partners for a spectacular evening of entertainment. Earlier this month, the event received national recognition after winning Special Event of the Year at the prestigious Emma Awards, celebrating the success and impact of the charity’s much-loved fundraiser.

Tickets are now on sale for Strictly Extravaganza 2027, which is sponsored by Colten Care and takes place at Lighthouse, Poole on Saturday 23 January 2027. Guests can look forward to an evening of spectacular dance, a drinks reception, three-course gala dinner with wine and plenty of sparkle, all while raising vital funds for Forest Holme Hospice Charity.
