In light of the current COVID-19 situation, we thought it would be nice to get people challenging themselves, staying active and also keeping spirits up with some exercise at home that can be done individually, as a couple or as a family.
Therefore, why not sign-up to run, jog or walk (or skate!) a marathon, half marathon, 10k or 5k that you can do in your own time over however long you need, as this is a marathon not a sprint!
What better way to keep safe and active at home while supporting your local NHS hospice.
Tie a Yellow Ribbon takes place each year, during Hospice Awareness Month in June, and is a special commemorative event for many of our supporters. The day brings the community together in joint celebration of our loved ones who are absent in body, but remain with us in spirit.
Every summer the yellow ribbon dedications glisten in the sunshine outside the hospice and are a visual reminder of the love and fond memories we have of our partners, family members and friends.
Under the current Government guidelines, our usual Tie a Yellow Ribbon event on June 18th will unfortunately not take place at the hospice this year, so instead we would like to expand our yellow ribbon display out into the local community.
Join us in displaying yellow ribbons in your windows and gardens across Dorset and beyond. Please feel free to be creative with your designs (see some wonderful ideas from our supporters below) but for ease, we have produced a ribbon template that this available to download here.
Follow our Step By Step Guide here and share your photographs via our social media pages.
Please visit our Dedications page to see your submissions.
If you’d also like to make a donation for your ribbon you can do this via our donate button or you can pay via bank transfer – our bank account details are as follows:
