Funding For Forest Holme Hospice

Forest Holme Hospice Charity (No. 1038021) helps to enhance the lives of over 1,000 adults from across Poole, Wimborne and the Isle of Purbeck who are facing a life limiting or terminal illness each year.

The Charity financially supports the specialist palliative and end of life care teams within Forest Holme Hospice, part of University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust, to be there for the patients and their families whenever, and wherever, they are needed.

Cost of providing our services

The Charity needs to raise at least £2,700 every day to support all aspects of the hospice including the 12 bedded inpatient ward, purchasing specialist equipment, funding a variety of nursing, education and allied health professional posts, furniture and fittings, as well as counselling and bereavement support to patients and their families. The total cost of providing Forest Holme Hospice’s services in Poole Hospital, in the community within people’s own homes, care or nursing homes and the hospice itself is around £2.4million a year.
