Living with a life-limiting illness, or caring for someone with a life-limiting illness can bring up many different emotions. Each day and at each stage, there may be new feelings and experiences to process, and your own reactions may confuse or overwhelm you. It is understandable that you would feel vulnerable and uncertain. At Forest Holme, we understand that it is normal to feel any, all, or none of these at any one time.
A holistic, person-centred approach
These feelings can often be distressing, and it can be helpful to know they are a normal and human response for people and their loved ones to be facing deteriorating health, serious disability, end of life, or loss of a loved one. These feelings may be like those you have experienced at other times in your life as well, but they may be more intense now. At times, they may feel manageable, but at others they may affect your ability to function as you would like. At times, it may feel like everything is falling apart making it hard to focus on leading a normal life.
All members of the team are trained in supporting your emotional needs. At Forest Holme, we take a holistic, tailored, person-centred approach to your care because we want everyone to feel listened to, and supported with the right care at the right time. We want to ensure that no matter how you are feeling, that you are not alone. All staff at Forest Holme are trained in listening and supporting your emotional needs and all you need to do is ask.
