£90,000 grant awarded for Hospice at Home service
Thursday 1st Oct 2026
Forest Holme Hospice Charity has been awarded a £90,000 grant from the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation to support its Hospice at Home service.
Hospice at Home provides specialist end-of-life care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, giving patients greater choice to spend their final days at home, surrounded by the people, pets and familiar surroundings that matter most to them.
The service supports patients across Poole, Wimborne and Isle of Purbeck, helping to avoid hospital admissions and enabling people to receive the same high level of specialist care at home that they would receive within the hospice.
The dedicated Hospice at Home team provides a range of care including medication administration, syringe driver reviews, emergency medication collection, psychosocial support and coordination with community services.
The £90,000 grant from the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation will make a significant contribution towards the annual cost of providing the service and help the charity continue to ensure local people and their families receive compassionate, specialist care when they need it most.
The grant was supported by Matt Smith of Twelve Wealth Management and Roger Carey of Carey & Co Financial Solutions, who acted as St. James’s Place introducers due to their active involvement with Forest Holme and personal connections to the charity.
Roger Carey said: “It has been a privilege to support Forest Holme’s application, and we are delighted that this £90,000 grant will make such a difference within the local community.”
Matt Smith added: “Forest Holme has a very personal significance for me, as my mother received such wonderful care towards the end of her life. I’m delighted this grant will help more local people and families benefit from that same level of care.”
The funding will help support the Hospice at Home service and ensure specialist end-of-life care remains available to local patients and their families.
Sara Fripp, Fundraising Manager at Forest Holme Hospice Charity, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation for this generous £90,000 grant, and to Matt and Roger for their support.
“Hospice at Home gives people the choice to spend their final days at home, surrounded by those they love. Funding of this scale makes a huge difference and will help us continue providing specialist care and support to local patients and their families.”
