Presentation for outstanding fundraising contribution
Monday 22nd Jun 2026
Forest Holme Hospice Charity has presented supporter Paul Payne with a special commemorative plaque in recognition of his exceptional dedication, commitment and support of the hospice over the past six years.
What began in 2019 as a one-off charity golf day in memory of loved ones has grown into one of the hospice’s most successful community fundraising events. Through the annual Knighton Heath Golf Club Forest Holme Charity Golf Day, an incredible £57,776.65 has been raised to support patients and families receiving care from Forest Holme Hospice.
Paul’s passion and determination have been at the heart of the event’s success. Supported by his wife Lorraine, alongside family, friends, players, volunteers and sponsors, he has created a much-loved event that has become a valued fixture in the hospice fundraising calendar.
His fundraising efforts have also gained national recognition. In 2025, Paul won a trip of a lifetime on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway after his son secretly nominated him, highlighting his remarkable commitment to raising funds for Forest Holme Hospice and other charitable causes.
Kirsty Perks, Corporate and Community Fundraiser at Forest Holme Hospice Charity, said: “On behalf of everyone at Forest Holme Hospice, we extend our sincere thanks to Paul for everything he has done, and continues to do, for the hospice and the wider community.”
