Funding For Forest Holme Hospice

Funding For Forest Holme Hospice

Forest Holme Hospice Charity (Registered Charity Number: 1038021) was set-up in 1994 to ensure that everyone in the local community affected by a life-limiting illness or bereavement gets the care and support they need, either at home or in our dedicated hospice facility.

NHS funding is limited, which is why we need to raise £1 million each year so that our team can deliver the highest level of care, when and where it counts.

The Charity financially supports the specialist palliative and end of life care teams within Forest Holme Hospice, part of University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust, to be there for over 1,500 adults and their families from across Poole, Wimborne and the Isle of Purbeck who are facing a life limiting or terminal illness each year.

Cost of providing our services

The Charity needs to raise at least £2,700 every day to support all aspects of the hospice. This includes our 11 bedded inpatient ward and community palliative care team, as well as purchasing specialist equipment and funding a wide range of nursing, education and health professional posts. Donations also help provide furniture and fittings, counselling and bereavement support, and our Hospice at Home service, ensuring compassionate care for patients and families when it is needed most.
